  • Personality: Outwardly, Solana presents herself as your typical rowdy, flirtatious, outgoing pirate lass- she's extremely social and talkative, and always seems to be looking for trouble- or at least booze. her attitude is very 'devil-may-care'.while this is her true personality, a lot of it is a cover for her massive amounts of trauma and depression she keeps hidden from the world.

Backstory

For the first 5 years of her life, Solana lived in a small tribe in the Azim Steppe with her mother Kura and father Silas.
on the eve of her 7th name day, her home was ransacked by slaver pirates. anyone who wasn't taken hostage (mainly women and children) was brutally murdered in battle. her father being one of them.Solana and her mother were tossed into the hold with the other captives, and eventually sold as slaves to another crew. it was a hard life, serving the ship and its not overly kind crew, and it only got harder when Solana started growing- her list of duties seemingly expanding with every little change.
the only true solace were the stories her mother would tell her and the other slaves every night, of daring escapes and a future of freedom... during the day time, she would dream of it so vividly she could feel it- until a rough shove would snap her back to her work.her mother went missing one day when she was 13. she simply woke up one morning while the ship was docked and she just.. wasn't there.
when the ship left port, she still hadn't shown up. Solana was convinced she'd escaped with out her, and clearly would find a way to come back and rescue her with help! her mother would never abandon her.Time passed, and her mother never came to stage a daring rescue as she had assumed she would. One of the pirates almost seemed to pity her- taking her under his wing to teach her some basic survival skills and other important things, and eventually she began to feel fond of the pirates... despite still being mistreated by them, and watching the abuse her kin shared every day. the idea of escaped seemed so far away and unimportant now.
so far away in fact, that when the other slaves staged a mutiny while they were once again at port. distraught and confused by the chaos, Solana leapt in the middle of the battle and tried to convince both sides to lay their weapons down. that idea was swiftly shattered with a firm boot to her back as she was knocked to the ground by the one pirate who'd treated her (in her mind) like his child. the blood and rage on his face as he spat at her to know her place- that they should ALL know their place in fact, when the injured slaves rushed to her defense, that he should've killed her and her 'bitch of a mother' before she'd gotten away from him.in that moment, something snapped into place. the years of torment and mistreatment, the village folk she'd known dead on the ground in front of her at a young age, her mothers disappearance- none of it should've happened, and the pirates had never loved her. of course they hadn't. she leapt up from the ground in anger, and brought the fight to him.when it was all over and the battle was won, she stood amongst the small group of surviving former slaves, lost and numb. But faced with ending the life of the pirate who'd taught her... she couldn't finish it, and he escaped with his tail between his legs. it didn't take long for the group that remained to go their separate ways, and solana found herself lured back to the ocean.. managing to get herself passage on a ship sailing to a place called limsa lominsa by offering to help with chores while aboard. she set sail- hoping to find that freedom her mom always talked about.

Main

The main continuity for Solana.
Solana in this universe has very little, if any, connection to the main events of the game.
This is the verse i most often write, and all headcanons belong to this universe unless specified otherwise.
Out of all universes, this one is the most open for writing.Living as a bounty hunter in Limsa, Sol lives a largely carefree and risky life- spending her days traveling, getting drunk in taverns, sleeping around and causing general mischief.All is not so pleasant as she acts like it is, however- and she's secretly very tired of the life she leads, tired of fighting and searching for any scrap of feeling she can get out of life... Not to mention her past quite literally haunts her, and she lives in fear that one day the dreaded captain of her former crew will come back to claim his 'favorite girl.'

Wol-Sol

Solana's Warrior of light verse.
While i don't write or talk about it as much, Solana is my main player character- thus making her my canon WOL.Despite how little i mention it, this universe is also open for writing just like any other upon request.Sol is much the same in this universe as in any other, though more deeply tied to the canon story of the game- the only notable differences are an increase in her anxiety issues, a mild decrease in recklessness and a major increase in self doubt and bloodlust.

This verse is partially still being developed, but open for plotting and writing~Having really come into her own, Solana worked her way up the ladder- commandeering her own ship and crew, which she runs about as chaotically but efficiently as you might expect.She loves her crew like family and spends her days and nights travling, searching for treasure, and running cargo from Limsa to anywhere it's needed.
